// This is my main Illustration Friday entry. I'll ellaborate more on it later. I'm sleepy...ZzzZzzzz //Ok, I'm awake now....well, kinda. This illo is an amalgamation (big word..tee-hee) of thoughts and ideas that eventually grew more interesting partly due to my busted copy of Photoshop. When in doubt, improvise :)
Anyways, I was literally two seconds away from throwing my computer out the window and shooting it with flaming napalm arrows on its way down, when I decided it would be best to take a long walk outside and let things simmer for a bit. Two hours later, Yvonne found me. Or I found her…I haven’t quite figured that one out yet, and she like the very cool person that she is, sat me down and guided me through the painful process of “not giving up”. She stayed up late with me, woke up early and even made me breakfast. She gave the best suggestions and even did some of the crap clean-up work while I was taking a nap!!! I think… I owe her dinner or something…
So anyways, this is the outcome of my weekend.

This is a late entry for last weeks I.F. word "Clean". I literally found it Thursday mid-day, so I didn't have much time. But I decided to post it up anyways for fun.

Scrolled all the way down the blog... Awesome stuff. Traditional or digital, all great. Just started painting in Photoshop? Doesn't look like you've had much of a learning curve to have to master.
Dex, I love the casual lines for the guy's hair and shadow on his paints. I really adds lots of interesting texture to the drawing. And the diagonal composition works great. Is this a combo of traditional and digital. If so, you've integrated the two spectacularly.
Also, I LOVE the fwoggie! It made me giggle! ribbit, ribbit

I love the first one and I agree with pia. I love the compostion and detail and the craziness! I also love the frog but I don't think that the soap is good for him, like bgoz said!

thanks for your suggestion. your absolutely right, about loosening up by using a more blunt or fat charcoal stick. i actually decided to use a much fatter charcoal stick on the rest of her dress and it gave a nice juxtaposition with the tight areas on top. i'll shoot some pics of it soon and post it.
by the way, i really love this piece you did. the graphic shapes against the highly rendered areas are very well balanced. how big is the piece? the hair is my favorite part.
as far as shooting my mural/drawing, i think i am still having trouble since i only have about 10 feet of distance from the image to work with. besides that, the paper is curled on the ends because i bought it on a large roll. i'm trying to find a way to flatten the image without smearing the graphite and charcoal.
