I.F. Red

I cannot stress enough, how fulfilling it is to be able to work on my sketchbook again…

This page, although not by design, is a culmination of the last couple of weeks. I see glimmers of my brief time in New York city, being at the Metropolitan Museum, and recent conversations with Yvonne.

On a side note, I am currently working on my website dexmission.com. I’m kinda bit rusty with the HTML and the Flash but it’s all trickling in drop by drop. The site should be up on happy hearts day :)

Highly impressive piece of work. Like the combo of line work, and more detailed rendering.

Dream-like and yet a bit of Divinci in tonal value. The red lines are esp. interesting...I love the corner with the circles and upturned face.

Glad you're posting art again. :)

I found Look-Look magazine! Your spread is lovely, it's great to see your work close up.

I don't even know who Danny Goldberg is (terrible of me, right?) but I love that portrait. Keep showing us new work!

I so admire when an artist's sketches are so beautiful. Your work is tremendous.

That's an inspiring sketch - I bet anyone who looks at it wants to immediately run down to the local coffee place, throw open their own sketchbook and start working stuff out, creatively-speaking. At least I do. (Darn day-job!)

Dex- I'm happy you are working in your sketchbook again too! I am interested to hear how this page is the result of several days of work. Is this normally how it goes for you? Do you typically build layers over the course of a few days or do you ever sit down and do it all at once?

Hey dex, I just read your last comment.

I sometimes wonder what would have happened if I had been brave enough to do art, instead of being afraid that I wouldn't get a job. But I have seen online portfolios that come from people who have attended these formal courses, and a lot of them lack that special something that makes you want to take a second look (which is something your work has).

Perhaps it's just as well that you are mostly self-taught. School would help re: contacts, mentors, discipline, etc., but there are some things that can't be taught. Don't lose sight of your dream!

Contemporary art annoys me more often than it should. What's wrong with a picture that actually looks like the thing you're trying to draw!?!

Yeah really nice stuff.. I dont now you but I grew up in Maimi.. I ama 3D animator but I draw by nature.. For me sketches, like yours anyway, are the final art.. I have work online at massdlm.com/blog if you feel like taking a look. I think if realestate brokering doesnt work out, you should check out concept art work for games and movies..

Peace
