Kristina

Pre-digital. Old school!!! :) Oil and 24k German goldleaf on wood. 16"x20". This is my cousin Kristina. She is half-Pilipino, half American. She says that makes a her a "FLIP". The initial painting was suppose to have her hair out but when she came by wearing a doo-rag (sp?), I couldn't resist.

I remember when we were going to use this for our magazine's cover. At the end of the day, I'm glad it didn't happen. The stories in that magazine weren't any good, and it would have proven to have been a mistake to have any association with it. I actually won 1st Place for the editing of it (they listed me as "Literary Editor"), but I just hate the way it looked in that ugly issue. The fun part is how many 1st Place Awards it took.
